EPILOGUE
by John Seavey
It really wasn't his fault, he thought glumly as he walked down the
London street. He had other things on his mind. How was he expected to
remember every little thing?
But, the fact of the matter was, he was stuck. All of his equipment
for entering hyperspace was in the TARDIS, which he couldn't get to.
And even with early 21st century technology, it might take him years
to rig up a working substitute.
He walked up to a phone booth and dialed a number. As usual, he had
no money. But hopefully UNIT took collect calls.
It took a good deal of effort, but he finally got through to
Brigadier Bambera. "Hello," he said, "this is the Doctor. I was

"That will change," said the Doctor. "The next few years will see
humankind take greater strides than ever before--and as they go
forward, other things will be there to meet them. This is a critical
juncture in Earth's history, and UNIT will play a major role. You
might just want some help."
"Alright, Doctor, I'll bring you in on a trial basis."
"Good! I will need an assistant--don't worry, I have just the
person in mind. She's a biologist, a surgeon, a cardiologist--and I happen to
know, she's in need of a position at the moment. Her name's Holloway..."
